Rolex Datejust ‘Lavender’ Ref. 1600 in Steel – 1960

The 1970 Rolex Datejust ref. 1600 in stainless steel is a subtle standout in the neo-vintage world. With its smooth bezel and no-frills Oyster case, it leans into understated charm rather than flash. What sets this example apart is the lavender patinated dial—a soft, time-earned shift in tone that adds quiet character. It’s a classic daily wearer with just enough nuance to catch the eye of collectors who appreciate the details.

Description

Why it stands out:
– Subtle ‘lavender’ patinated dial.
– Smooth bezel.

General information:
Although the dial is, in our view, the defining feature of this timepiece, we are also impressed by its overall preservation.
The case has been expertly refinished to Rolex specifications, resulting in crisp lugs that showcase the original bevels and flowing lines.
The Jubilee bracelet’s remains in good preserved condition with usual signs of stretch corresponding to its age. All inks are sturdy and non show to have any damage or weak links. Both the serial and reference numbers between the lugs are clearly visible.

The Cal. 1570 is fitted with 26 jewels and ticks away with a frequency of 19.800 vibrations per hour keeping accurate timing.
