Barwise Duplex from 1823

This is a rare and very high quality made timepiece which is not often offered in a condition like this.
With confidence we say we have never had a 200 year old watch in better condition than this piece, after dealing with more than 2.500 pocket watches in the last 10 years.

A rare Duplex pocket watch by the English maker Barwise from London.

Flawless white enamel dial with large decentralized seconds hand and thick golden ‘spade’ hands.

The heavy sterling silver case is plain. There are no dents or deep scratches. Hallmarks for London, Sterling silver and the year 1823 (h).

The movement is protected by the original dust cover which is signed by the maker.
The high end movement has a special Duplex gear (see macro shot). The hand engraved balance bridge has a diamond end stone.

The movement has been serviced and runs great.
