The Bucherer Archimedes Ref. 1727-001 is a discreet product of the Swiss retailer’s own watchmaking ambitions from the 1990s — crafted in a heavy and royal sized 25mm x 41.5mm case (lug to lug). Cast in 18-karat pink gold with a manual-wind movement, it carries a jump-hour complication that displays the time through an aperture at 12 o’clock, a neat mechanical touch rather than a statement. The silvered duo-dial separates minutes and running seconds cleanly across two registers, giving the watch a quiet logic to its layout (inspired on the old ‘Doctors’ watches. It is the kind of piece that rewards a closer look.
