The ‘mop’ dial is subtle in the sense of its colour not taking too much attention of the already intriguing dial composition. The glance of the ‘mop’ dial is minimal and only visible in certain light fall.
With this Genta watch, the model name “Retro” must be taken literally as it is short for “retrograde,” one of its main features. Genta was among the very first to embrace both retrograde hands and jump hours into one timepiece.
The condition of the watch is very good. We find some light superficial scratches on the crystal and case caused by normal wear. The dial and hands remain in perfect immaculate condition.
This larger sized mens model features a likewise retrograde date indication located on the bottom half of the dial. Personally we find the dial design together with the choosing of the guilloche ‘mop’ pattern extremely well balanced.
The watch is powered by Gerald Genta finished ETA 2892-A2 movement, keeping accurate timing.
The movement has been checked by our watchmaker and received new oil on the most important positions (no complete overhaul). The watch comes with a 12 month mechanical guarantee.
Original 18K solid gold buckle is present, later beige suede strap.
