Heuer Carrera 18K Gold Ref. 2456 Chronograph – 1960

A seldom-seen Heuer Carrera Ref. 2456s wristwatch boasting a solid yellow gold case, which is rare. The majority of 1960’s Carrera models are typically manufactured in steel or gold-plated variations, making these all-gold cases pretty hard to find. Scroll down to read more about this piece.

Description

This is an unpolished and un-restored solid gold example in honest good condition and in our opinion a superb additional to a Heuer/Carrera/Racing/Chronograph collector.
The sunburst silver dial, adorned with elongated hour markers, remains virtually unmarred. The case, exhibiting superficial scratches from regular wear, features robust lugs and a secure screw-down case back safeguarding the coveted Valjoux 72 movement—a choice embraced by renowned brands for their finest chronograph timepieces.

The movement is clean and runs with fine accuracy with the chronograph function working perfectly as it should.
