Marvin ‘Mint Condition’ Triple date Chronograph Valjoux 72c

2,750

Marvin Watch Company, founded in 1850 in the Swiss Jura, built its reputation on quiet precision rather than fanfare — and this triple date chronograph from the 1950s is a fine example of that philosophy. Powered by the Valjoux 72C, one of the most respected chronograph ebauches of the postwar era, the watch offered serious complications at a time when Marvin was competing confidently in the mid-to-upper segment of the Swiss market.

Description

Triple signed on dial, movement and caseback, it left the factory as a complete and considered piece. Seventy years on, it appears to have spent most of its life exactly where it is now — unworn, unpolished, and untouched. A loupe reveals the faintest hairline scratches, the only honest evidence that this watch is not labeled ‘New Old Stock’. For a watch of this age and complication, that is a rare thing.

Why it stands out:
– Superb unworn condition.
– Powered by Valjoux 72c
– Case back sticker (worn).

What you should know:
– Non original strap/buckle.

General information:
A beautifully preserved 1950s Marvin chronograph with triple date function. The dial strikes a nice balance with its gold Arabic hour markers set against the partial red handset — subtle, but with real character. The Valjoux 72C movement has been inspected by our watchmaker and runs with fine accuracy, all chronograph functions operating as they should. The quick-set date function works perfectly as well.
