Description

Attractive Omega from 1947 with rare and hard to find RG bumper automatic chronometer movement.

This example is fitted in a 18K rose gold French made case.
In the 40s, 50s and early 60s, Omega send some of their movements to Besancon in France to avoid extremely high gold taxes in Switzerland. Maison Brand Freres in Paris produced this Eagle-head hallmarked rose gold case which is from excellent quality (heavy and thick case with screw down case back).

Looking at the dial, this watch was originally meant to be sold in France as the dial is showing the ‘fab Suisse’ signature.

The stunning cross-hair dial developed a subtle patina across.
Applied rose gold Omega logo and numerals/indexes, facetted Dauphine hands and an attractive shaped blued steel centre sweep seconds hand.

The case remains in good condition with thick lugs and an appreciated wide flat bezel.

The RG certified Chronometer movement is to be recognized by the special regulator. The movement has been checked and is running with fine accuracy.

The watch is fitted on a brown leather bracelet and a new rose gold Omega buckle. Accompanied with a green Omega box (damaged).
