Omega Seamaster 300 ‘Big Triangle’ Ref. 166.024 from 1968

Definitely showing some sings of use but in our opinion, the characteristics of this beautifully aged Omega Seamaster 300 are exceptional.

Description

This beautiful present example remains in unrestored and authentic/characteristic condition.
The matte black dial with large tritium luminous hour markers shows an intriguing character created by the well aged patina on the hour markers. Stunning ‘sword’ hands with the same desirable yellowish aged tritium lume.
The dial signature and writing has turned into an attractive smokey white colour.

The large bakelite bezel remains in very good condition without any major cracks or discolorations.

The strong and heavy case looks to be unpolished, we find the case to show corrosion in the steel, mostly on the rear side next to the screw down case back. The case remains in sturdy and strong condition, as all pitting is in the upper surface.

Case back writing and image of the Omega Hippocampus still clearly legible.
The automatic Caliber 552 movement is clean and runs with fine accuracy. Correct Serial number 26.901.702 indicating this watch was produced in 1968.

Later suede leather strap and original steel Omega buckle.
