Rolex Datejust 1601 Matt Blue Dial – 1973

5,500

This 1973 Rolex Datejust ref. 1601 represents a classic period of the model, when traditional proportions and understated elegance defined the collection. It features a rare matte blue dial, preserved in striking condition, with a deep and even tone that is seldom seen compared to the more common glossy variants of the era. The dial has a sightly different tone blue in the ‘pie-pan’ outer edge which, for us, makes it so much more attractive. Introduced in the mid-20th century, the Datejust became one of Rolex’s most enduring designs, valued for its balance of practicality and refinement. This example remains well preserved overall, reflecting careful use and sympathetic ownership. A thoughtful choice for collectors who appreciate subtle details and historically grounded design.
