Rolex Explorer II Ref. 1655 from 1984 – MK4

This 1655, produced in 1984 remains in an exceptional ‘mint’ like condition. Looking at the timeless design, modern wrist presence and its mesmerizing condition we find it hard to believe this watch left the Rolex factory 40 years ago.

The watch has an immaculate dial/hand set which has acquainted an attractive ‘vanilla’ like patina.

The beefy case has sharp lugs and bevels. Serial (8.314.xxx) and reference number between the lugs are perfectly legible. The 24-hour bezel is sharp and shows just one tiny nick below the 10 hour mark (see pictures). The black inlay is fully present.
Note that the crystal has a few tiny marks/scratches around the edge, the dial is immaculate so all spots you see are scratches/dust particles.

The Cal. 1570 has been checked by our watchmaker and comes with 12 months of guarantee on mechanical defects.

The original 78360 Oyster bracelet with 580 endlinks shows to be in the same fine condition as the watch itself without noticeable stretch to the links remaining its original stiffness.

The watch is accompanied by a rare vintage Rolex ‘coffin’ box, two tags and booklets.
