Tudor Montecarlo ‘Home Plate’ Chronograph – Full Set

A stunning Tudor Monte Carlo Chronograph ‘Homeplate’, reference 7031

Introduced in 1970, the Oysterdate Chronograph marked Tudor’s first foray into chronographs. Two references were released: the ref. 7031 and ref. 7032, identical in all aspects except for the bezel—one featuring an acrylic bezel and the other a steel bezel.

This particular example is exceptionally well-preserved and comes with its original certificate, having been purchased at Bucherer in Lucerne, Switzerland. Finding this reference in unrestored, fully original condition is increasingly rare.

Description

The dial, arguably the most striking feature of this watch, is flawless, with no signs of wear or damage. Attractive warm tone of orange in the lume on the dial as well as both the hour and minute hand.
The model earned its ‘Homeplate’ nickname due to its uniquely shaped hour markers, reminiscent of a baseball home plate.

The original cyclops crystal, acrylic bezel (showing only minor wear), and the sought-after MK1 / P301 ‘millerighe’ pushers remain present.

The case is strong, with only minimal signs of wear, reflecting its overall superb condition. It is fitted with its original folded Oyster bracelet fitted on 282 end links.

The movement has been inspected by our watchmaker and runs well, maintaining accurate time. Both the chronograph and date functions operate flawlessly.
