Rolex Datejust Coral Dial · Ref. 6917 · 26mm · 1978

This 1978 yellow gold Rolex reference 6917 example features a dial configuration that stands apart—a genuine coral stone dial, not to be confused with the lacquered coral-red Stella dials. Coral stone dials aren’t actually made of stone—despite the name commonly used by watch collectors—they’re composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) and are often labeled as the rarest of ‘stone’ dials ever taken into production by Rolex. Veined by nature, displaying a spectrum of tones from soft peach to vivid pink or red. This particular dial leans into a warm, immaculate pink, shifting subtly with the light. Correctly displaying the ’T swiss T’ signature and the yellow gold date framing. All dial writing remains in absolute perfect condition. We absolutely love the presence of this watch—it’s undeniably special, even at a quick glance. Yet, it carries a far more subtle charm compared to, say, a Tiger Eye or a vibrant Stella dial, as it lacks that intense gloss. If you’re looking for something truly special with strong investment potential (Day-Date Coral Rolex watches have appreciated over 300% in just the past five years), this is it. And frankly, it doesn’t get much better than the example we’re offering.
