Description
A stunning condition Ref. 1016 Rolex Explorer from 1967 (serial 1.733.xxx).
Honest and unrestored condition with an incredibly attractive overall appearance.
The immaculate matte black dial has a very attractive patinated lume showing no flaws at all.
The steel Oyster case has four sharp lugs. Little wear on the case besides minor scratches due to normal use.
The watch is fitted on a later but very cool ‘Pateted’ bracelet. Lots to read about this special Rolex bracelet so we encourage any interested buyer to do so. In brief; the bracelet features a ‘Pateted’ strap instead of patented which circulated for a short period before noticed/stopped. These typo’s are pretty rare in the world of horology, obviously.
Between the lugs, the reference 1016 and serial number are perfectly visible (pictures can be send upon request).
The Cal.1570 movement is clean and runs smooth with accurate precision.
