Description
This particular 7032 example is exceptionally well-preserved and remains in its original, unrestored condition. No parts have been replaced or altered, which is a rare find for this reference.
The striking grey and black dial, accented with bright orange, is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and charismatic dials in Tudor/Rolex history. The lume has developed an attractive ‘Vanilla’ tone, visible on all hour markers and hands. The watch earned its ‘Homeplate’ nickname due to its uniquely shaped hour markers, reminiscent of a baseball home plate.
It retains its original plexiglass crystal with a cyclops positioned at the 6 o’clock mark. The crystal has some minor light scuffs but is otherwise in excellent condition—any spots visible in the macro shots are on the crystal, not the dial.
With original three-dot winding crown for the Triplock system.
As previously mentioned, this watch is fully original. Yet, we’d still like to highlight that even the highly sought-after MK1 / P301 ‘millerighe’ pushers are still present.
The case shows signs of use, with scratches throughout, consistent with its 55-year history. If preferred, we can have the case professionally polished to Rolex standards for an additional €500. However, we do not necessarily recommend this, as the watch remains in its original, unrestored state.
The serial and reference number between the lugs are crisp and both perfectly legible.
The original 1970s-dated 7836 bracelet with correct No. 280 end links is included. Expected stretching is present, as is typical for a 55-year-old folded Oyster bracelet. We can include a newer 80s 78360 Oyster bracelet if wished for.
The Cal. 7734 movement has been inspected by our watchmaker and runs well, keeping accurate time. Both the chronograph and date functions operate flawlessly.
Accompanied by a vintage 1970s Tudor leather box, though not original to this reference.
